Renoma Shopping Center, Wrocław, Poland

The old historical part of Renoma is a modernist building designed by Hermann Dernburg and constructed in 1930. Originally known as Shopping Center Wertheim, it was at that time the most modern building of its kind in Europe. One of the major problems during modernization works was to match it with the historical part. In the first decade of the 21st century, in the heart of Wrocław, a shopping mall together with large office space was built with most modern materials and engineering practice. The extension doubled the building size.
